Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and showed us to a nice quiet table. Osso Buco (which was not on the menu) was really good. Sea bream was also very fresh."
"Words cannot describe the experience we had here. We came here on our last night in Rome, and I wish it was our first night so we could come back every day. First impressions last. As we were looking at the menu outside, we were never pressured to come inside. When we decided to eat here, we were warmly greeted by the staff and seated at the table. They give everyone a complimentary glass of sparkling white wine, and if there is a queue and you have to wait for a table, they will give you the wine to drink while waiting. And it's on the house! The food was simply excellent. My seafood risotto was the best dish I had on our trip in Italy so far. I wasn't expecting it, but it was just simply incredible. I did find a small piece of plastic in my tiromisu but it was no big deal. When I told the staff, he offered a complimentary drink of my choice which was very nice, although I politely inclined. I am so genuinely impressed by this restaurant and I am gutted that we will not be able to return on this trip."
"Great food! The carbonara was perfectly made, the bruschetta was really delicious and just right – no onions! And the tiramisu was simply divine. You’ve got to try it! The waiters were super friendly and always gave great recommendations. Thanks for a wonderful evening!"
"Dinner at Ristorante Elletra (since 1922), near my hotel. I started with fried baccala. For my main, I had a lamb cutlet in a Nero d’Avola sauce and a side of cicoria. Both were delicious and great service from Tonino. The icing on the cake: it was warm enough to eat outside!"
"We came here twice during our stay. Carbonara was so good, even the gluten free version. We had best beef carpaccio for appetizer too. Service was great too."
"Excellent experience having lunch at Elettra. They have a soup page on the menu, which I’ve found hard to come in Rome. Excellent atmosphere and polite service. Highly recommend trying the vegetable soup and any of their pasta plates. Definitely will try to come back when I have the next opportunity."
"The food here was actually surprisingly good for feeling a little tourist trappy. The gnocchi alla gorgonzola with walnuts was incredible. The carbonara was a little too eggy in a couple bites but otherwise very tasty. The creme brulee was also delicious, though the custard was maybe a little thicker than I’d expect. I found it a little odd that they torch it at the table for you but that’s no big deal. The primary reason I didn’t give 5 stars, and why I gave the atmosphere 3/5 stars, was because of the number of “sales” guys who continuously kept coming to our table trying to get us to buy things. While I understand this is fairly common in Europe and it isn’t really the restaurant’s fault, it gets very old very fast and disrupts the meal especially when they don’t take no for an answer."
"Delicious foods but don't sit near the wine cabinet. It's so annoying. The staffs came to pick wines over our head so many many times. It's not just about annoying, it's not safe if they miss. They should use this cabinet just to display various wines and when customers order it, bring it from the stock instead. The second thing was... a staff was coughing while taking the order. It's not just one or two coughs, but very bad coughs. Then she brought glasses, wine, cutlery and napkins to us. Just so you know, with the hand covering her mouth while coughing. I thought she should have seen a doctor and got rest at home or used a mask."
